We've been developing customized Microsoft Access solutions for large and small businesses for over ten years.
Quite often we find that the people who can benefit the most from a database (even a simple one), don't know it. They've got years of information (customers, orders, inventory, shipments, etc.) tied up in hundreds, sometimes thousands of spreadsheets or text documents. Believe it or not, some people even still use paper (but you're not one of those...are you?)
Those hundreds of documents are taking up precious space on your hard disk (or even worse, on dozens of floppy disks). Besides being volatile and prone to corruption, how can you make solid business decisions based on information stored in hundreds of different places? You can't.
Planning a database project is perhaps the most difficult phase of a custom application; computers aren't even involved.
We will sit down with you (our potential client), and discuss how your business can benefit from a such an application. We'll talk about problematic issues you may be experiencing in your current business practice, or problems you may have making the information you collect meaningful.Working in all kinds of settings (stand-alone, web-based, LAN, WAN, etc.) we've created applications that pull together office functionality into an easy to use, reliable database system. We can tie information together with the internet, email, barcoding and many other computerized systems.
As for our approach to the actual design of your database, our primary concern is stability and reliability. Your database will be of no use if you can't trust the information that is stored in it.
Secondly, we focus on making the database easy to use and friendly. It's great to have a really sophisticated database, but if it's too difficult to use, what good is it really?
Beyond this, we focus on support (we stand behind our work), forward-thinking (what else can this database do for you that you weren't aware of), and overall quality (you are a professional, and as such you should have professional tools).
